Revert "speedo: Use remote gitrep if local does not exist" ...

Fixes-commit: 7a9214b0d41ecf1aacada79a850da05d558320ff.

Using a remote repo is dangerous; for a local repo it can be expected
that it has been properly pulled and checked.
